KPIT Technologies to invest in software-defined vehicle solutions

KPIT Technologies, a Pune-based software company, said that it plans to make considerable investments towards software-defined vehicle solutions with a particular focus on middleware solutions.

The company said that the objective of the investments will be to help expedite the transformation of its clients to software-defined vehicles across passenger as well as commercial vehicle segments.

KPIT Technologies plans to develop and improve technologies and infrastructure for helping original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier 1s in the transformation of vehicle architecture.

The Indian software company said that it will address the emerging challenges with solutions in software integration, architecture consulting, integration of platform components, integrated tooling, and CI/CT/CD infrastructure for enabling OEMs in quickly stitching together diverse components.

KPIT Technologies will invest in full-service capability, tools, platforms, and accelerators, which will complement its existing software integration capabilities in the domains of autonomous driving, connected vehicle, electric powertrain, body electronics, Autosar, diagnostics, and over-the-air (OTA).

Apart from that, KPIT Technologies is said to be working with its partners for developing an ecosystem and build integrated solutions to help OEMs and Tier 1s speed up their transformation journey.

Kishor Patil — CEO of KPIT Technologies said: “The main objective for KPIT in creating this focus is to help our clients rapidly and seamlessly transition to central-compute architecture. Our platforms, tools, accelerators, and methodologies offer the speed, scale, and independence required by the OEMs.

“We are excited to partner with and contribute to the ecosystem to help advance this transition by at least a year.”

Recently, KPIT Technologies signed a deal to acquire a controlling stake in Indian embedded systems company PathPartner Technology for up to INR 1,910 million.
