Karnataka Bank breaks ground on centenary building in Mangaluru

Karnataka Bank has broken ground on its proposed centenary building to be built near its existing head office premises at Mahaveera Circle in Mangaluru, Karnataka.

Founded in 1924, Karnataka Bank will be celebrating its Centenary Year during the 2023-2024 financial year.

Karnataka Bank chairman P Jayarama Bhat and its MD and CEO — Mahabaleshwara MS jointly laid the foundation stone of the centenary building.

The proposed new building will be constructed over an area of 2,41,000sft area. It will house the various operations for future banking.

Mahabaleshwara MS said: “Karnataka Bank has always travelled ahead of time to cater to the varying demands of the customers from all walks of life. As the Bank steps into the second century of its purposeful existence, Bank is going through a new phase of growth backed by optimum use of new age digital technologies enabled by machine learning/ Artificial Intelligence and Business Intelligence.”
