Kalki 2898 AD OTT release on Amazon Prime and Netflix in September
The epic sci-fi film ‘Kalki 2898 AD‘, starring Prabhas, is making waves at the box office with its extraordinary performance. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film features an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Saswata Chatterjee, and Kamal Haasan in prominent roles. Drawing inspiration from the Mahabharata, the film creates a dystopian world that has captivated audiences, leading to a successful theatrical run since its release on June 27.
‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has been released in six languages, further broadening its reach. Fans are eagerly anticipating the film’s OTT release. According to recent updates, the film will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime and Netflix. Amazon Prime will offer the film in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, with English subtitles. Netflix will stream the Hindi version, also with English subtitles. Originally planned for a late July digital release, the film’s exceptional box office performance has prompted producers to extend its theatrical run, now expecting an OTT release in the second week of September.
With a staggering budget of Rs 600 crore, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is one of the most expensive Indian films ever produced. The film is projected to surpass Rs 1000 crore by the end of its theatrical run. On its opening day, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ made history by becoming the third biggest opener in Indian cinema, earning a massive Rs 191 crore globally. This achievement places it ahead of notable films such as KGF 2 (Rs 159 crore), Salaar (Rs 158 crore), Leo (Rs 142.75 crore), Saaho (Rs 130 crore), and Jawan (Rs 129 crore). The film trails only behind Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’, which holds the top spot with an opening collection of Rs 223 crore.
‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is produced by C Ashwani Dutt, Swapna Dutt, and Priyanka Dutt under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies. The film’s music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan, adding to its epic and immersive experience.
