JSW Renew Energy Limited, a step-down subsidiary of Limited, has initiated the phase-wise commissioning of its 810 MW ISTS-connected Wind Power Project in Tamil Nadu. The project, awarded under SECI tranche IX, began with the first phase commissioning of 51 MW. This strategic move is aligned with a power purchase agreement with SECI for a duration of 25 years.

Current and Future Capacity Achievements

Following this development, JSW Energy’s total installed capacity now stands at 6,822 MW. Additionally, the company has 2,969 MW of capacity under construction, which is expected to be commissioned in phases over the next 12 months. JSW Energy’s Ambitious Renewable Energy Goals

JSW Energy has set an ambitious target of reaching a 20 GW generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030. Currently, with a total capacity of 9.8 GW, the company is well-positioned to meet its near-term goal of 10 GW by 2025. Additionally, JSW Energy has secured 3.4 GWh of energy storage capacity through battery energy storage systems and hydro pumped storage projects. The company also aims for a 50% reduction in its carbon footprint by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
