Japan Drilling Co. (JDC) said that its subsidiary Hakuryu 5 has signed a drilling contract with INPEX Offshore San-in for supplying the HAKURYU-5 semi-submersible drilling rig.
The HAKURYU-5 rig will operate offshore San-in in Japanese waters. The contract period for the Mitsubishi MD 501 propulsion-assisted semi-submersible drilling rig is March to July 2022.
According to Japan Drilling, the HAKURYU-5 rig can carry out drilling operations in a maximum depth of 1,640 ft (option 1,970 ft). of water with 3,600 m.tons of deck load.
