Isgec Heavy wins FGD-FGC order from OPGC’s TPPIB Thermal Power Station

Isgec Heavy Engineering has bagged an order for a wet limestone flue gas desulphurization system and flue gas conditioning system package (FGD-FGC package) from Odisha Power Generation Corporation (OPGC) for its 1.32GW TPPIB Thermal Power Station.

Located in Banharpalli, Jharsuguda, the TPPIB Thermal Power Station will have two coal-fired units, each of 660MW capacity.

Isgec Heavy Engineering said that it has a collaboration and technology transfer agreement with US-based Babcock Power Environmental for wet FGD technology, which will be utilized for the thermal power project in Odisha.

The company’s scope of work includes design, engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, installation, commissioning, startup, and testing of the FGD- FGC package.

Earlier this month, the Indian heavy engineering company had taken over the operation and maintenance of a 90MW cogeneration plant for a major alumina refinery in Odisha.
