Intersolar & Energy Storage North America strengthens clean energy presence with Midwest Solar Expo acquisition
Intersolar & Energy Storage North America (IESNA), a leading force in solar and energy storage innovation, has acquired the Midwest Solar Expo, solidifying its position as a driving force in the renewable energy industry. The acquisition signals IESNA’s intent to expand its regional reach while addressing the unique challenges and opportunities of the Midwest renewable energy market.
IESNA Vice President Wes Doane highlighted the importance of this move, explaining that the Midwest Solar Expo has played a pivotal role in uniting stakeholders from policy, finance, technology, and business innovation within the region. He noted that integrating Midwest Solar Expo into IESNA’s portfolio reflects the organisation’s strategic focus on tailoring resources to regional needs while maintaining its national and global impact.
Former Midwest Solar Expo Executive Director Jake Rozmaryn shared his optimism about the acquisition, stating that IESNA’s unmatched global network and resources would help the event flourish. Rozmaryn, who will transition to an advisory role, expressed confidence that the Midwest Solar Expo would deliver even greater value to its attendees, exhibitors, and partners under IESNA’s guidance.
This acquisition also marks a continuation of IESNA’s broader expansion efforts, which include the upcoming launch of Intersolar & Energy Storage North America Texas. Scheduled for November 2024, the Texas event underscores IESNA’s commitment to fostering renewable energy solutions across diverse regional landscapes.
Midwest Solar Expo has established itself as a critical platform for addressing the Midwest’s specific energy challenges, providing actionable insights and fostering collaboration among industry professionals. Its integration into IESNA’s Clean Energy portfolio brings new opportunities for stakeholders navigating the rapidly evolving renewable energy sector.
The move builds on previous investments in clean energy by Diversified Communications, the Portland, Maine-based producer of IESNA. Since acquiring Intersolar North America in 2019, Diversified Communications has expanded its renewable energy initiatives to include Energy Storage North America, the Smart Energy Decisions network, the Net Zero Forum, and the Renewable Energy Forum.
Grimes, McGovern & Associates served as the exclusive advisor for the transaction. Their role highlights the strategic importance of this acquisition in advancing renewable energy innovation across the Midwest.
With this latest development, IESNA cements its role as a key catalyst for the energy transition, enabling professionals to tackle the region’s unique challenges while leveraging global expertise.
