Inox Wind, an Indian wind energy solutions company, has received a Type Certificate for its latest 3 MW wind turbine, which can be enhanced up to 3.3 MW, from the Germany-based global certification body, TUV SUD.
The certification is a testament that the wind turbine prototype has fulfilled all required criteria for regular production and setup, conforming to the globally recognized standard, IEC 61400-22.
The 3 MW turbine, created in collaboration with internationally known technology partner AMSC, features a 100 m tubular tower and a 145 m rotor diameter, making it one of the largest in its category. The turbine’s compact design contributes to the overall decrease in the costs of production, transport, logistics, and installation, positioning the company favorably in the Indian Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) market.
Kailash Tarachandani, CEO of Inox Wind, highlighted the completion of this rigorous evaluation and the achievement of the Type Certificate as proof of the company’s commitment to delivering reliable, high-performance wind turbines. He emphasized the turbine’s innovative design for optimal energy generation worldwide and mentioned the strong interest it has generated across various customer segments.
With the Type Certification in hand, Inox Wind is set to launch its state-of-the-art 3 MW WTG, which Tarachandani expects will drive the company’s future growth.
