Inox Wind secures repeat 87 MW order from Continuum Green Energy in Gujarat and Rajasthan
Inox Wind Limited, India’s leading wind energy solutions provider, announced a significant milestone today: securing a repeat order for 87 MW from Continuum Green Energy Private Ltd. This substantial order not only strengthens the collaboration between Inox Wind and Continuum but also marks a strategic step toward enhancing wind energy infrastructure in Gujarat and Rajasthan. Inox Wind’s 3 MW class Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) will play a central role in this project, which will be executed on a turnkey basis and include multi-year operations and maintenance (O&M) services post-commissioning.
This new order, a reflection of Continuum’s confidence in Inox Wind’s expertise, brings Continuum’s total orders with Inox Wind to approximately 700 MW. According to Kailash Tarachandani, Group CEO of Inox Wind, this agreement underscores the strength of their ongoing partnership with Continuum, highlighting that Inox Wind’s advanced 3 MW turbine models and turnkey capabilities are highly valued by developers aiming to increase their renewable energy capacity. Tarachandani noted that this contract contributes to Inox Wind’s highest-ever orderbook, currently standing at over 3.4 GW, as the demand for wind energy surges in India.
The project aligns with India’s growing emphasis on renewable energy solutions, particularly as companies increasingly pursue hybrid and round-the-clock energy solutions, often favoring a substantial wind component. Inox Wind, as part of the INOXGFL Group valued at approximately USD 12 billion, operates with a robust foundation in renewable energy and chemical industries. With over 90 years of legacy, the group’s commitment to wind energy is evidenced through its fully integrated manufacturing plants across Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh. These facilities manufacture essential wind turbine components, including blades, tubular towers, hubs, and nacelles, with an annual production capacity of around 2.5 GW.
Inox Wind’s comprehensive solutions cover the entire wind energy cycle—from concept and commissioning to ongoing O&M services. Leveraging in-house manufacturing and the latest technology, the company assures high-quality, reliable, and cost-competitive wind energy products. Accredited with multiple certifications such as ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004, Inox Wind’s commitment to quality and sustainability is central to its business model.
Adding to its portfolio, Inox Green Energy Services Ltd., a listed subsidiary of Inox Wind, holds an extensive 3.5 GW O&M portfolio, making it a unique entity in India’s wind energy sector. Another subsidiary, Resco Global Wind Services Pvt. Ltd., provides engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, including power evacuation infrastructure development for renewable energy projects.
This latest project with Continuum is expected to bolster Inox Wind’s market presence, supporting India’s broader goals to enhance renewable energy capacity and reduce carbon emissions. As the nation moves towards sustainable energy, Inox Wind appears well-positioned to contribute significantly, backed by robust growth prospects and a healthy balance sheet. Tarachandani expressed optimism, stating that as developers adopt integrated renewable energy solutions, Inox Wind anticipates continued high demand for its state-of-the-art wind technologies.
Expert Opinion on India’s Renewable Energy Surge
Industry analysts highlight that India’s renewable energy landscape is witnessing rapid growth, driven by government policies and the increasing need for sustainable power solutions. A renewable energy expert noted that Inox Wind’s strategic collaborations with key players like Continuum Green Energy underscore a larger trend among corporates to adopt eco-friendly energy sources. With companies investing heavily in hybrid and round-the-clock renewable solutions, Inox Wind’s position as an industry leader becomes increasingly relevant.
The expert added that wind energy, particularly through advanced solutions offered by companies like Inox Wind, is poised to play a crucial role in India’s energy mix. Projects such as this latest one with Continuum are vital as they demonstrate the scalability and effectiveness of wind power in India, which still has significant potential for growth in both infrastructure and technology.
