Inox Wind secures 60MW turbine order from Serentica Renewables

In a significant boost to India’s renewable energy drive, Inox Wind Limited, one of the country’s leading wind energy solutions providers, has announced a substantial order from Serentica Renewables. This collaboration marks a milestone in advancing sustainable energy solutions tailored for energy-intensive industries.

Under the agreement, Inox Wind will supply 3 MW-class wind turbines for a 60 MW project located in Karnataka. Delivery of these turbines is scheduled for the first half of 2025. Furthermore, the company will handle multi-year operations and maintenance (O&M) for the wind turbines post-commissioning. This arrangement not only highlights Inox Wind’s technical expertise but also reinforces its position as a key player in India’s wind energy market.

Decarbonizing Industry With Renewables

The project is being developed by Serentica Renewables, a platform focused on providing clean, round-the-clock energy solutions. With this initiative, Serentica aims to decarbonize energy-intensive industries by transitioning them from conventional to green energy sources. The power generated will primarily cater to Serentica’s industrial partners, including the Vedanta Group, further demonstrating the industrial sector’s growing reliance on renewable energy.

Serentica’s CEO, Akshay Hiranandani, expressed the company’s commitment to promoting sustainability and innovation in energy production. He described the partnership as a critical step toward achieving India’s renewable energy goals, emphasizing the significance of delivering reliable green energy to industrial partners.

This partnership not only strengthens Inox Wind’s portfolio but also aligns with Serentica’s ambitious goal of displacing 47 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually. Serentica’s roadmap includes generating over 50 billion units of renewable energy annually through solar, wind, and energy storage solutions. Recent investments of $650 million from KKR underscore Serentica’s determination to scale its clean energy capacity.

Inox Wind’s Group CEO, Kailash Tarachandani, highlighted the synergy between the two companies, stating that their combined expertise could drive India’s transition to green energy. He added that the tailored wind energy solutions provided by Inox Wind would serve as a catalyst for commercial and industrial players aiming to embrace sustainable power.
