Infosys to open automotive digital technology and innovation center in Germany
Infosys said that it will set up an automotive digital technology and innovation center in Stuttgart, Germany in its effort to bring in innovation and IT infrastructure transformation in the automotive sector.
The automotive digital technology and innovation center – incorporated as Infosys Automotive and Mobility GmbH & Co. KG is said to bring automotive and IT experts from various parts of Germany under a single roof for shared knowledge, skills, and innovation.
Infosys said that as a part of its partnership with German automotive manufacturer Daimler, automotive IT infrastructure experts based in the country will shift from the latter to the new Infosys automotive digital technology and innovation center.
The Indian IT services provider said that the new center will offer its customers with tools to address the increasing demand for electric vehicles in Germany.
The Infosys automotive digital technology and innovation center in Stuttgart will give training and innovation labs. Its focus will be on industry transformation, covering the infrastructure needed for designing future and advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), electrification, and automation.
The company will use the new center for supporting Daimler in bolstering its IT and data center infrastructure, and achieve competitive edge.
Jan Brecht – Chief Information Officer of Daimler and Mercedes-Benz said: “As software becomes modular and IT infrastructure continues to scale, Daimler will take three simultaneous steps to transform its IT landscape: consolidation, scaling and modernization.
“Through establishing the Infosys Automotive and Mobility GmbH in Germany, Infosys is committed to grow with us in the automotive industry and provide exciting career opportunities for our employees. The center will also set new standards for cloud and infrastructure services in the automotive industry.”
According to Infosys, the automotive digital technology and innovation center in Stuttgart will push for a multi-cloud and carbon neutral approach to IT infrastructure transformation. It will make use of Infosys Cobalt, a mix of Infosys services, solutions and platforms that help enterprises in fast tracking their cloud journey, alongside other major cloud providers.
