Indian auto major Mahindra & Mahindra sells 70,471 vehicles in April 2024
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), a frontrunner in India’s automotive industry, has announced a notable 13% increase in overall auto sales for April 2024, with a total of 70,471 vehicles sold, including exports. The surge in sales is particularly pronounced in the Utility Vehicles segment, where Mahindra reported selling 41,008 vehicles in the domestic market, marking an 18% growth.
Launch of the XUV3XO: A New Market Disrupter
April also saw the launch of the XUV3XO, Mahindra’s latest offering in the compact SUV category, which is already being hailed as a game-changer. According to Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division at M&M Ltd., the XUV3XO is tailored to appeal to a broad spectrum of customers with its unique combination of innovation, safety, comfort, and performance, starting at an attractive price of INR 7.49 lakhs.
Commercial Vehicles and Exports Show Varied Performance
The domestic sales for Commercial Vehicles stood firm at 22,102 units. In detailed breakdowns, Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) above 3.5T and Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles (MHCV) showcased a remarkable 74% growth. However, the LCV segments below 3.5T saw a slight increase, and the smallest LCVs and electric 3-wheelers experienced marginal declines. Exports in April 2024 witnessed a modest 2% increase, consolidating Mahindra’s presence in international markets.
