Despite mixed reviews from audiences and critics alike, with Kamal Hassan’s performance receiving praise while the storyline faced criticism, anticipation for the film’s OTT release is high. The digital rights for Indian 2 have been acquired by Netflix, with the film expected to premiere on the platform in August. The exact release date on Netflix has not yet been confirmed, but the announcement has generated significant interest.
Box office performance
At the box office, Indian 2 has made a substantial impact, amassing ₹150 crore as of Thursday. Film’s plot and reception
The sequel continues the narrative of the original film, depicting the story of a freedom fighter battling against the prevailing corruption in modern India. Kamal Hassan reprises his role as the vigilante Senapathy, whose signature handcuffed hands with a twisted finger feature prominently in the movie’s promotional material.
Music for Indian 2 was composed by Aniruddh Ravichander, who recently gained acclaim for his work on Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. Despite the film’s mixed reception, its strong box office performance and upcoming OTT release are set to maintain its visibility and audience engagement.
