Saito Mitsunori, Chief Representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) India, highlighted the commitment of JICA to supporting green hydrogen technologies. “JICA is dedicated to facilitating the development of green hydrogen and ammonia technologies. The collaboration between Hygenco and Mitsubishi Power represents the essential international cooperation required to tackle and foster sustainable growth. JICA will continue to support this initiative through the JICA – Neev Fund co-creation platform,” he said.

Hygenco Green Energies’ Role

Under the terms of the MoU, Hygenco Green Energies will be responsible for supplying green fuel for Mitsubishi Power’s GTCC technology to potential clients. The company plans to develop and operate large-scale, commercially viable green hydrogen and ammonia production assets. These assets will be provided on a build-own-operate or gas-as-a-service model, ensuring flexibility and scalability in meeting global energy demands.

Investing in green hydrogen and ammonia production is critical for enhancing India’s energy security and achieving its environmental objectives,” Prabhakar said.
