Danish sportswear giant Hummel has partnered with Unicommerce, one of India’s leading e-commerce enablement platforms, to revolutionise sportswear e-commerce operations and refine the post-purchase customer experience for its customers. The collaboration aims to streamline order processing and provide a seamless shopping experience as the sportswear brand intensifies its efforts in the growing Indian sportswear market.

Unicommerce’s cutting-edge technology, including its multi-channel order management and advanced warehouse management systems, has been adopted by Hummel India to automate order fulfilment from its website and various e-commerce platforms. The integration is designed to unify operations via a single dashboard, allowing faster and error-free order deliveries. Additionally, Hummel has implemented Unicommerce’s UniShip technology, an advanced post-shipment tool enabling customers to track, manage, and return orders efficiently, offering a marketplace-like experience even for direct brand purchases.

The Indian sportswear market has experienced remarkable growth, driven by a shift towards fitness and digital-first shopping habits. Unicommerce’s analysis of the Black Friday sale 2024 revealed a 65% increase in order volumes in the sportswear category compared to the previous year, highlighting the sector’s rapid expansion.

This partnership aligns with Hummel India’s ambition to broaden its footprint by opening exclusive brand stores and expanding its presence in the ‘team sports’ and ‘institutional business’ segments. Currently, the company operates with three warehouses and a fully integrated brand website on Unicommerce’s platform, ensuring operational excellence and scalability for its sportswear e-commerce operations.

Soumava Naskar, Managing Director of Hummel India, stated that the partnership is a pivotal step in targeting tech-savvy younger consumers while enhancing post-purchase customer experience. He added that Unicommerce’s platform ensures Hummel’s products are readily accessible to its growing audience.

Echoing this sentiment, Kapil Makhija, Managing Director and CEO of Unicommerce, expressed enthusiasm about supporting Hummel’s expansion in India’s dynamic e-commerce landscape.
