Retail industry news : Home furnishings retailer IKEA has revealed its plans to open its second furniture store in Atlanta, Georgia for which it has selected a location in Marietta.
The furniture store retailer is yet to work out on the construction schedule and opening of the new home furnishings shop in Atlanta.
IKEA though has revealed that its second Atlanta-area store will be located about 15 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta and will be constructed on the western side of Interstate 75. The home furnishings retailer’s other store in Atlanta is in Midtown.
The new IKEA Marietta store will come up between the Marietta Parkway and Delk Road exit interchanges and is anticipated to feature the same architectural design of other IKEA stores across the world.US
Commenting on the new furniture store in Marietta, Lars Petersson – the President of IKEA US said: “After 10 successful years in our Midtown location, we are excited to expand our presence with a new store in the Atlanta area.
“This proposed Marietta store will bring the unique family-friendly shopping experience closer to customers in Cobb County and beyond.”
The IKEA Marietta furniture store is expected to feature inspirational room-settings and displays, in addition to spaces that will be dedicated to children and families.
IKEA says that its new furniture shop in Marietta will provide employment for hundreds of workers during its construction stage and hundreds of coworkers once the new store is opened.
