Higginbotham acquires Amerman Insurance Services to expand in San Antonio
Texas-based insurance broker Higginbotham has expanded its practice in the San Antonio region by acquiring Amerman Insurance Services for an undisclosed price.
Amerman Insurance Services, which is an independent broker in San Antonio, adds eight commercial and personal property/casualty insurance and employee benefit professionals to the existing local practice of Higginbotham. The latter now has 38 insurance professionals following the merger.
Drew Apperson – managing director of Higginbotham in San Antonio said: “We have parallel philosophies for how we build client relationships.
“Our clients want the services offered by large national insurance firms, and we deliver them at the local level. Amerman Insurance is similarly committed to providing those services to San Antonio businesses.”
Higginbotham’s San Antonio office alongside Amerman Insurance will bring its single-source solution for insurance and financial services to the local businesses. The partnership is said to be part of the growth strategy of Higginbotham that sees it merging with other independent brokers that can grow its capability to address an increasing number of clients looking for all-inclusive services.
Matt Amerman – president of Amerman Insurance said: “We’ve always taken a consultative approach with our customers. Understanding their total needs is what drove us to expand into all coverage lines. Partnering with Higginbotham is a natural progression because it allows us to address customers’ needs beyond coverage, including risk management, employee benefit administration and human resources.”
Higginbotham has appointed Matt Amerman a managing director. Matt Amerman will continue heading Amerman Insurance with existing staff in close partnership with Drew Apperson to operate as a collaborative team. In the coming year, they will combine office spaces in San Antonio, said Higginbotham.
