Hero MotoCorp to restart operations in select plants
Hero MotoCorp said that it will commence single shift production at its Gurugram and Dharuhera plants in Haryana and at the Haridwar plant from 17 May as part of its plans to gradually resume operations.
Apart from producing for the domestic market, the manufacturing plants will also have an improved focus on serving the global business (GB) markets across the world, said the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer.
Hero MotoCorp said that it continues to monitor the ongoing Covid-19 second wave situation in India closely and the remaining manufacturing plants and other facilities will also gradually open up.
The motorcycles and scooters manufacturer claimed that over 90% of its employees aged over 45 years have been already vaccinated for protection against Covid-19.
Hero MotoCorp stated: “Strict safety and hygiene protocols are in place at all plant locations and offices in preparation for the gradual resumption of operations.”
The Indian automobile company had suspended operations at its plants temporarily in a staggered fashion for four days from 22 April to 2 May, which was then extended till 16 May.
All the corporate offices of Hero MotoCorp have been put under Work from Home (WFH) mode.
