Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, reported a significant sales performance in the initial months of the fiscal year 2025. In May 2024 alone, the company sold 498,123 units, although this was a slight decrease from 519,474 units sold in May 2023. However, over the first two months of the fiscal year (April-May 2024), Hero MotoCorp sold a total of 1,031,708 units, marking a robust growth of 12.6% compared to the 915,581 units sold during the same period last year.
This growth trajectory is supported by the company’s strategic focus on premiumizing its product portfolio and enhancing customer touch-points and brand experience. In response to the unprecedented demand for the stylish Xtreme 125R, Hero MotoCorp is ramping up production to meet the aspirational mobility needs of the next generation.
Adding to its product lineup, Hero MotoCorp launched the latest generation of the iconic Splendor – the Splendor+ XTEC 2.0, in celebration of its 30th anniversary. The new model maintains its classic design but incorporates modern features such as LED headlights, an H-shaped signature tail lamp, and offers exceptional fuel efficiency of 73 kmpl, ensuring it remains a top choice for consumers.
Hero MotoCorp’s strategic initiatives extend beyond product development. The company has joined the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), becoming the first auto company in the country to do so. This partnership aims to expand its reach by offering two-wheeler parts, accessories, and merchandise over the network, thereby supporting the Digital India mission and contributing to national economic growth.
The company also noted a healthy increase in export volumes and continues to experience strong demand for the VIDA V1 electric scooter. Looking ahead, Hero MotoCorp is preparing for an energetic period with several product launches and business expansions planned, which are expected to further solidify its market leadership and respond to global consumer demands.
