Hero MotoCorp reports robust August sales with 5.12 lakh units sold

, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, reported a significant dispatch of 512,360 units for August 2024. This marks a substantial 38% increase in month-on-month dispatch volumes, despite facing some supply shortages which are expected to be addressed by September. The company’s domestic sales for August reached 492,263 units.

Hero MotoCorp’s Growth Trajectory

Hero MotoCorp’s performance in August contributes to an impressive total of 2,417,790 units sold in the fiscal year 2025 (April-August), reflecting an 8% growth compared to the same period in fiscal year 2024. The company’s upbeat outlook is supported by anticipated gains in the festive season, a recovering rural market, growth in the 125cc segment, and continued investment in power brands.

Electric Vehicle (EV) Segment and Global Expansion

Hero MotoCorp’s (EV) brand, VIDA, has achieved a milestone by surpassing 6,000 units in monthly dispatches for the first time. VIDA’s market share has risen to over 5%, highlighting a strong performance in the EV sector.

The company also noted positive growth in its Global Business segment. August dispatches increased both sequentially and year-on-year, with year-to-date (April-August 2025) sales up by 32%. The 125cc segment continues to thrive, particularly with the success of the Xtreme 125R.

New Launches and Innovations

August saw the launch of the 2024, featuring a new Black Metallic Silver color trim. The updated model includes notable innovations such as an LED headlamp for improved visibility, a first-in-segment hazard lamp for enhanced safety, and a stop-start switch for better fuel efficiency and convenience at traffic signals.

Expansion and Partnerships

Hero MotoCorp is expanding its global footprint with a new presence in the Philippines through a strategic partnership with Terrafirma Motors Corporation (TMC). TMC will serve as the assembler and distributor for Hero MotoCorp products, including the Xpulse 200 4V, Hunk 160R 4V, and Xoom 110, which will be available at over 350 customer touchpoints by the end of the year.

In India, the company has launched its first Hero in New Delhi, increasing the total number of Premia stores to over 40 across 35 cities. These stores offer a premium experience, leveraging modern aesthetics and advanced technologies.

Commitment to Hockey and Future Prospects

Hero MotoCorp has also expanded its commitment to global hockey by entering a five-year partnership with the International Hockey Federation (FIH). As a Global Leadership Partner, Hero MotoCorp will support major events such as the FIH Hockey World Cup, the FIH Hockey Pro League, and more, contributing to the sport’s growth worldwide.
