HCL Technologies has bagged a contract from German reinsurance giant Munich Re to help the latter create a next-generation digital workplace for its employees.
The Indian IT company, which already has a digital transformation partnership with Munich Re, will now modernize and standardize workplace services for 16,000 plus employees spread over 40 countries.
HCL Technologies plans to adopt a “glocal” strategy for supporting the reinsurance firm’s global workforce in various languages such as German, Mandarin, and Spanish from near-shore locations.
Besides, the Indian IT services provider will implement a highly customized service desk solution and tap the power of automation and self-service capabilities for boosting efficiency and improve employee user experiences.
Robin Johnson — Group CIO of Munich Re said: “The last 12 months have triggered the biggest change in how companies empower and support their employees.
“Now, user experience transformation has become a strategic priority to us. It was essential to have a partner that could help us create a modern digital workplace powered by the latest technology innovation to deliver a next-generation user experience to our employees. It was also imperative for our partner to offer global multilingual support capabilities.”
HCL Technologies claimed that it was chosen by Munich Re as its preferred partner because of the strength of its existing relationship and its track record in creating a modern digital workplace for other German and global entities.
The company said that its Fluid Workplace Solution will give the flexibility to Munich Re for quickly modifying remote working practices as business requirements change to mitigate the risks relating to the uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic.
Apart from that, HCL Technologies will deploy its WorkBlaze solution, which will offer predictive analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) for IT operations capabilities. These will help the German reinsurance company in proactively improving user experiences and set the foundation for a self-healing digital workplace.
Rahul Singh — President of HCL Technologies Financial Services said: “We’ve already achieved significant success with Munich Re in modernizing its applications and supporting its core insurance platforms.
“Flexibility and user-experience transformation are now of greater importance, and this deal reflects the growing value organizations like Munich Re see in HCL’s innovative Fluid Workplace model. This alliance also represents another significant stride in HCL’s growth in Germany, where we continue to invest in expanding our footprint and developing new solutions to support our clients.”
