Oil field service companies Halliburton and TechnipFMC have introduced a distributed acoustic sensing solution for subsea wells called Odassea, which is said to help operators in executing intervention-less seismic imaging and reservoir diagnostics to bring down the cost of ownership while enhancing reservoir knowledge.

By integrating hardware and digital systems, the Odassea service is claimed to bolster digital capabilities in subsea reservoir monitoring and production optimization.

While Halliburton is offering the fiber optic sensing technology, completions and analysis for reservoir diagnostics, its partner TechnipFMC is providing the optical connectivity from the topside to the completions. Through the partnership, operators can speed up full field subsea fiber optic sensing, design, and execution, said TechnipFMC.
