Greek neobank Snappi achieves milestone with new ECB-issued banking license

In a significant development for European banking, Snappi, the innovative Greek neobank, has successfully obtained a universal banking license from the European Central Bank (ECB). This landmark achievement was supported by the Bank of Greece and marks the beginning of Snappi’s ambitious plans to redefine financial services in the region.

The newly acquired license empowers Snappi to offer a full spectrum of banking services, including deposit acceptance and loan provisions. Christos Megalou, Chairman of Snappi’s Board of Directors and CEO of Piraeus Bank, expressed his enthusiasm about the new license: “I am very pleased that Snappi has been granted a Eurozone-passportable banking license. This is a significant step in the bank’s development and marks a new era in Snappi’s journey to become part of the new banking landscape in Europe, starting from Ioannina, Greece.”
