Great Eastern Shipping signs deal to sell Jag Vijaya gas carrier

The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited (G E Shipping) said that it has signed a contract to divest the Jag Vijaya gas carrier to an undisclosed buyer.

Jag Vijaya is a midsize gas carrier that was built in 1997. It has a volume of around 35,421 cbm, said the Indian shipping company, which primarily transports liquid, gas, and solid bulk products.

The LPG tanker vessel will be handed over to the new buyer in the first half of FY 2022-23.

Currently, Great Eastern Shipping has a fleet of 45 vessels, which includes 31 tankers (eight crude carriers, 18 product tankers, and five LPG carriers) and 14 dry bulk carriers (two Capesize, seven Kamsarmax, and five Supramax).

The fleet of the Indian shipping company has an average age of 12.66 years, aggregating 3.57 mn dwt.
