Godrej & Boyce wins Rs 468cr steam generators contract from NPCIL
Godrej & Boyce has bagged an INR 468 crores contract from Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) for steam generators for the indigenously developed 700MW pressurized heavy water reactors (PHWR) to be set up by the latter.
The order was won by Godrej Process Equipment, one of the 14 businesses of Godrej & Boyce, which in turn is the flagship company of the Godrej Group.
It marks the first order of steam generators for Godrej & Boyce.
According to Godrej & Boyce, steam generators are highly important equipment in a nuclear power plant for producing a clean and reliable source of power for baseload needs.
Godrej & Boyce claimed that the selection of Godrej Process Equipment was based on its engineering competencies, capabilities for manufacturing high precision equipment, and know-how in working with exotic metallurgies.
The company will manufacture the steam generators at its new facility in Dahej, Gujarat.

Godrej Process Equipment is engaged in manufacturing custom-built process equipment that include pressure vessels, heavy walled reactors, columns, high pressure heat exchangers, trays, and reactor internals.
