Godrej Agrovet unveils Pride Hog feed range to strengthen pig health and farmer livelihoods

Godrej Agrovet Limited, a leading agri-business company in India, has launched a pig feed range, “Godrej Pride Hog,” designed to address the unique nutritional needs of pigs across different stages of growth. This new product marks a significant step towards enhancing pig health and immunity while supporting the livelihoods of marginal farmers. The launch event in Guwahati underscored the urgent need for advanced feeding solutions amidst the challenges posed by African Swine Fever (ASF), a disease with devastating impacts on pig farming in India’s North East.

The Pride Hog feed range is scientifically formulated to cater to the diverse needs of pigs at different life stages, ensuring balanced nutrition that enhances growth and immunity. The product line includes three variants:

Pride Hog Starter: For piglets aged 2 weeks to 2 months.

Pride Hog Grower: Tailored for pigs aged 2 to 4 months.

Pride Hog Finisher: Designed for pigs aged 4 months onward, optimising their readiness for trading.

This stage-specific approach aims to combat common health challenges such as piglet mortality and diarrhoea while ensuring steady weight gain and resilience.

At the launch event, industry experts such as Dr. Purnananda Konwar of the Assam Livestock and Poultry Corporation emphasised the critical role of scientific farming practices and biosecurity measures. These include quarantine protocols, disinfection routines, and controlled pig movements to curb ASF’s spread.
