Gerber Organic BabyPops puffed corn and oat snack launched for crawlers

Gerber Products, a childhood nutrition company, which is a part of Nestlé, has launched Gerber Organic BabyPops, a new puffed corn and oat snack, to expand its organic snacks range.

Gerber Organic BabyPops snacks have a popcorn-like shape and are said to have the right size for infants who are learning to pick up things.

The new puffed corn and oat snack is available in three varieties, which are Peanut, Tomato and Banana Raspberry. The new baby snack range from Gerber Products does not have any added sweetener or salt, besides being organic and non-GMO.

While the Tomato and Banana Raspberry products are flavored with real fruits and veggies, BabyPops Peanut is said to have real, organic peanut flour. It is said to be the first Gerber product to offer peanut in a developmentally suitable form to enable parents to include peanut in their baby’s diet.

Presently, Gerber Organic BabyPops are available across the US in-store at Target and will shortly be available online at Target.com. From November, the new baby snack can be bought at Albertsons and Safeway retail stores as well.

Dr. Joel Lim – Pediatric Gastroenterologist and Gerber Medical Director said: “Gerber recognizes the importance of having a peanut snack available as pediatric and nutrition experts, including the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), state there is now evidence in some infants that the early introduction of infant-safe forms of peanuts reduces the risk of peanut allergies.

“Of course, parents should always discuss the introduction of peanut and other food allergens with their doctor and follow their doctor’s instructions.”
