Fortress Development, a US real estate developer, has broken ground on $1-plus billion worth Avenue Bellevue project in Bellevue, Washington involving the development of luxury residential, hotel, and retail spaces.
Avenue Bellevue located on the corner of NE 8th Street and Bellevue Way will include two residential towers – the South Tower Estate Homes and the West Tower Residences – apart from hotels and restaurants, and retail plaza.
The south tower will feature 98 “Estate Homes”, including 1- to 3-bedroom units as well as seven penthouses, ranging from 900 ft2 to 4,800 ft2 in size.
West Tower, a recently announced 25-floor building, will consist of 224 modern homes, known as “The Residences at Avenue Bellevue” while units ranging from studios to 2-bedroom homes.
Andy Lakha – CEO and principal, Fortress Development, commenting on the Avenue Bellevue project, said: “The West Tower includes a stunning collection of residences that will appeal to young professionals, families, and individuals who want to immerse themselves in beautiful design, plus lavish yet comfortable amenities, all with sweeping views.”
West Tower will also feature a private fitness room, a lounge, a private dog run, and valet service.
Participating in the groundbreaking ceremony, John Chelminiak – Mayor, Bellevue said: “The Avenue Bellevue project combines business, residence and recreation opportunities in a unique new space for Bellevue.
“Not only will Avenue Bellevue add housing for our growing city, but it will also create hundreds of new jobs and provide a new center of community and leisure for residents and visitors.”
The plaza at the Avenue Bellevue project will also feature restaurants, including Angler, BUDDHAzen, Tao, Asia de Cuba, and China Grill, in addition to the Pacific Northwest’s first-ever luxury InterContinental Hotel with 266 rooms.
Designed in partnership by Seattle-based architecture firms Weber Thompson and CollinsWoerman as well as Hirsch Bedner Associates, Avenue Bellevue will open in 2022.
