Foley Family Wines partners with Loch Lomond Group to distribute award-winning Scotch in U.S.

Foley Family Wines (FFW), a prominent Sonoma County-based family-owned wine and spirits company, has announced a new agency partnership with The Loch Lomond Group (LLG), a distinguished producer and distributor of Scotch whisky. Effective immediately, FFW will import and distribute LLG’s products across the United States through its extensive wholesale and supplier network. This partnership marks FFW’s significant entry into the lucrative Scotch whisky market.

The Loch Lomond Group, renowned for its high-quality Scotch produced at some of Scotland’s most historic distilleries, brings an impressive portfolio to FFW’s distribution channels. LLG’s offerings include the acclaimed Glen Scotia Single Malt and Loch Lomond Single Malt Scotch whiskies, along with other premium spirits and champagne. This collaboration is particularly noteworthy as it includes products from distilleries like Glen Scotia, established in 1832, and Littlemill, recognized as the oldest distillery in Scotland with origins tracing back to 1772.

The partnership is timely given the recent accolades received by LLG’s products. The Loch Lomond Distillery was named the most-awarded distillery of 2023 at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, with its Glen Scotia 25-year-old Single Malt being named ‘Best in Show’ in 2021, earning the title of the best whisky in the world. Such prestigious awards enhance the value that LLG’s products will add to FFW’s already robust portfolio.

Scotch whisky continues to be a significant contributor to Scottish exports, with a substantial presence in the U.S. market where whiskey is the largest spirit category. The addition of LLG’s products is expected to bolster FFW’s position in the U.S. market, complementing its existing lineup of super-premium and luxury wines and spirits. “The addition of these fine Scotch whiskies and premium spirits will naturally complement our super-premium and luxury wine and spirits brands as we continue to elevate our offerings to our customers and consumers,” stated Shawn Schiffer, President of FFW.

Both companies have expressed enthusiasm for their joint venture. Colin Matthews, CEO of The Loch Lomond Group, emphasized the strategic fit between the two companies, citing FFW’s leading industry position and comprehensive sales and distribution network as key factors in choosing FFW as a partner.

The Loch Lomond Group has been actively involved in global sports partnerships, including sponsorships with The Open Golf Championship and the Scottish Professional Football League, which have helped to increase the visibility and market penetration of its brands worldwide. These activities are part of LLG’s broader strategy to enhance its international presence and are expected to play a crucial role in the partnership’s success in the U.S. market.
