FMC Corporation, an American agricultural sciences company, has closed the previously announced $200 million acquisition of Danish pheromone research and production company BioPhero ApS.
The deal was signed last month and has been wrapped up after the meeting of all the required conditions and regulatory approvals.
Established in 2016, BioPhero is into the production of pheromones, which are used for controlling insects and pests in agriculture. BioPhero is a technology spin-out from the Technical University of Denmark, which began operations in 2018.
By acquiring BioPhero, FMC Corporation will gain biologically produced pheromone insect control technology to its product portfolio and research and development (R&D) pipeline.
