Fatal accident at Largo Inc.’s Brazil chemical plant triggers investigation

Largo Inc., a Canadian vanadium company, announced a tragic accident at its Maracás Menchen Mine’s chemical plant in Bahia State, Brazil on Thursday, July 13, 2023.

The incident unfortunately resulted in the death of an employee, marking a dark day for the company. Another contractor involved in the accident suffered minor injuries and has since been discharged from the hospital.

Following the accident, the critically injured employee was rushed to local medical facilities in Jequié, Bahia State. Despite medical intervention, he was later pronounced deceased. In response to this tragic event, Largo immediately initiated an investigation to understand the circumstances leading to the accident. They are also cooperating with local authorities to ascertain the cause.
