EQS acquires whistleblowing and compliance SaaS provider Business Keeper

EQS Group, a German regulatory technology (RegTech) provider, has acquired 100% of Business Keeper, a Berlin-based SaaS provider for whistleblowing and compliance for €95 million in cash.

The sellers of Business Keeper are Macquarie Capital and also the company’s founder Kenan Tur and managing director Kai Leisering.

The acquisition is said to help EQS Group become one of the top European cloud providers for whistleblowing systems having 1,200 SaaS customers.

Established in 2001, Business Keeper is said to have developed the first digital whistleblowing system in the continent.

The whistleblowing and compliance SaaS provider has more than 300 customers and has a workforce of around 100 people in three locations in Europe.

Its customers are mainly large corporations, which include 16 companies listed on the DAX stock market index. Additionally, Business Keeper’s customer base includes the likes of Danone, Samsung Electronics, Nestlé, and other global corporations.

Currently, Business Keeper registers annual recurring license revenues (ARR) of around €10 million and is said to have been EQS Group’s strongest competitor in Germany.
