Energy industry news : French energy giant Engie will develop four renewable energy projects in Mexico that will have a combined power generation capacity of about 688MW with an investment of $580 million.
Engie had won the development rights for a wind project and three solar plants during Mexico’s third Long Term Electricity Auction held by National Center for Energy Control (CENACE).
The wind project that will be developed by the French energy company is the 100.8MW Tres Mesas 4 wind farm to be built in Tamaulipas state.
As far as the Mexican solar projects that will be taken up by Engie are the 199MW Villa Ahumada solar power plant in Chihuahua state, the 134MW Abril solar power project in Sonora state and the 254MW Calpulalpan solar plant in Tlaxcala state.
