Aker Solutions has secured a Letter of Award (LOA) from Equinor to supply the subsea production system and control umbilical for the Eirin field development, located in the North Sea.
The development proposal for the Eirin field plans to tie-back to the Gina Krog platform using existing facilities and infrastructure.
The final contract is yet to be formalized and is contingent on approval and a final investment decision by Equinor and its partners. Should the contract be awarded to Aker Solutions, the company projects a considerable order intake ranging from NOK 0.5 billion to NOK 1.5 billion associated with this endeavor.
As part of the LOA terms, Aker Solutions will commence preparatory works to ensure prompt delivery of the subsea tie-in project.
The work scope for the Eirin field development encompasses a full subsea production system, inclusive of two vertical subsea trees, a 2-slot template with an integrated manifold and High Integrity Pressure Protection System (HIPPS), control system; control umbilical, and related equipment.
Major equipment deliveries are planned for 2024 and 2025.
The Eirin field, initially discovered north of the Sleipner and Gina Krog field in 1978, represents a significant addition to the North Sea’s oil and gas portfolio. Its upcoming development continues to highlight the area’s rich energy resources and technological advancements in subsea operations.
Maria Peralta — Aker Solutions executive vice president and head of subsea business said: “This contract once again demonstrates the value of our configurable subsea offering and the benefits of the portfolio approach in our execution.
“Standardization enhances supply chain flexibility and enables us to deliver our solutions faster to the market. We look forward to supporting Equinor and its partners in creating value on this important fast-track subsea project.”
