Royal Enfield, a unit of Eicher Motors Limited (EML) and a global leader in the middle-weight motorcycle segment, has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu. The agreement, inked at the Global Investors Meet 2024 in Chennai, outlines a significant investment plan in the state.

Details of the ₹3,000 Crore Investment Plan

Under this MoU, Eicher Motors has proposed to invest approximately Rs. 3,000 crores over an eight-year period in Tamil Nadu. This investment will focus on establishing greenfield and brownfield projects in the region. The primary aim is to develop new products, particularly electric vehicles (EVs), including product development, capacity building, and potential capacity enhancement for Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) as needed.
