EDP Renováveis (EDPR) has bagged a couple of 15-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) during the Brazilian energy A-4 2022 auction to sell 93MW from a new 124MW wind farm in Paraíba, Brazil.
The PPAs were awarded to the Spanish renewable energy company at a price of R$179/MWh each.
EDPR expects the Paraíba wind project to be commissioned in 2025.
The Spanish wind farm developer said that it now has 2.2GW of capacity secured in South America and 9.8 GW in overall secured capacity for 2021-2025.
The company stated: “EDPR’s success reinforces its low-risk profile and growth strategy based on the development of competitive projects with long-term visibility, fostering the acceleration of the energy transition and the decarbonization of the economy.”
