He emphasized the UAE’s journey towards sustainability, integrating advanced clean energy projects from various renewable sources. The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park is central to this vision, showcasing Dubai and the UAE’s commitment to building an environmentally friendly future.

Pioneering Technology and Capacity

The project’s fourth phase sprawls over 44 square kilometres and utilizes three hybrid technologies: a 600MW parabolic basin complex, a 100MW CSP tower, and 250MW from photovoltaic solar panels. With an investment of AED15.78 billion under the independent power producer (IPP) model, the project boasts the world’s tallest solar tower, measuring 263.126 metres, and the largest thermal energy storage capacity at 5,907 megawatt hours (MWh). This feat is acknowledged by the Guinness World Records, further featuring 70,000 heliostats that track the sun.

Impactful Benefits and Partnerships

, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), shared that the project would provide clean and to approximately 320,000 residences. It’s set to reduce carbon emissions by about 1.6 million tonnes annually. This initiative reinforces Dubai’s role as a leader in renewable energy and climate action. The project is a collaborative effort led by DEWA and Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power, with Noor Energy 1 established as the project company. DEWA holds a 51% stake, ACWA Power 25%, and the Chinese Silk Road Fund 24%.
