DT Midstream boosts capacity with Phase 2 LEAP expansion completion
DT Midstream, Inc. (NYSE: DTM), a key player in the energy sector, has announced the early mechanical completion of its Phase 2 LEAP expansion, marking a significant advancement in its infrastructure capabilities. This 400 MMcf/d expansion, set to be available for firm service on January 1, 2024, follows the successful completion of the Phase 1 expansion in August 2023.
This development will increase the overall capacity of the LEAP system to 1.7 Bcf/d, significantly enhancing DT Midstream‘s ability to meet growing energy demands. The LEAP system plays a crucial role in providing interconnectivity between Haynesville production and the expanding Gulf Coast markets.
The expansion is timely, as domestic industrial and international LNG markets are projected to grow by over 11 Bcf/d by 2033. Customers on the LEAP system benefit from access to multiple existing or under-construction LNG terminals, including Sabine Pass, Cameron, Calcasieu Pass, Plaquemines, and Golden Pass. This access is facilitated through interconnects with key pipelines like Creole Trail, Cameron Interstate Pipeline, Gillis Access, Texas Eastern, and Transco.
This expansion by DT Midstream reflects the company’s strategic vision to align with the growing needs of the energy market. By enhancing its infrastructure, DT Midstream is well-positioned to capitalize on the expected growth in domestic and international markets, providing reliable and efficient energy solutions. The early completion of Phase 2 also demonstrates DT Midstream’s commitment to operational excellence and its ability to execute large-scale infrastructure projects effectively.
