Dover to acquire Soft-Pak, a software provider for waste and recycling fleet industry

Dover acquisition of Soft-Pak : Industrial products manufacturer Dover has agreed to acquire So. Cal. Soft-Pak (Soft-Pak), a provider of software for the waste and recycling fleets.

Based in California, Soft-Pak serves the waste and recycling fleet industry with integrated back office, route management, and customer relationship management software solutions.

Soft-Pak is claimed to have provided hundreds of waste and recycling fleets across the US with software solutions that are customized to the unique needs of fleet customers.

In 2014, Soft-Pak launched the Mobile-Pak in-cab connected tablet solution, which includes real-time GPS tracking, real-time route management, and other functionalities to enable integration of moving fleet into the hauler’s back-office.

After the completion of the deal, Soft-Pak will become part of Dover’s Environmental Solutions Group (ESG) business unit, which supplies waste handling solutions to the North American waste and recycling industry.

Dover acquisition of Soft-Pak is expected to improve the digital offerings of Environmental Solutions Group, which are focused on connected refuse vehicle and productivity-improving solutions.

The industrial products manufacturer said that further integration between a fleet’s mobile assets, customer management, and back-office operations will help Environmental Solutions Group to provide an integrated offering for refuse vehicles.

Commenting on Dover acquisition of Soft-Pak, Richard J. Dover acquisition of Soft-Pak, which is subject to satisfaction of customary closing conditions, is likely to be wrapped up in Q1 2020.
