The primary aim of the consultancy agreement is to diminish Japan’s reliance on wind turbine manufacturers by facilitating the development of a multi-brand wind farm maintenance framework. This strategy is expected to introduce greater flexibility and spur competitive growth within the Japanese wind energy market, fostering sustainable development.

Under the terms of the agreement, will provide advisory services to Meidensha, leveraging its extensive expertise to help establish a robust onshore service infrastructure in Japan. Additionally, Deutsche Windtechnik will supply Meidensha with crucial spare parts, ranging from power electronics to major components, essential for the maintenance and operation of wind turbines.

Matthias Brandt, Director at Deutsche Windtechnik, highlighted the importance of this partnership, stating, “The cooperation with Meidensha Corporation is a significant step for the Japanese onshore wind energy sector. We support Meidensha to establish itself as the leading ISP in this emerging market.” Brandt emphasized that Deutsche Windtechnik’s two decades of experience would play a crucial role in developing a comprehensive service infrastructure for onshore wind farm operators in Japan.

This strategic move is in line with Japan’s Strategic Energy Plan of 2021, which targets achieving 36-38% and reducing CO2 emissions by 46% by 2030 compared to 2013 levels.
