Coveris acquisition of Amberley : European packaging company Coveris has acquired 100% of UK-based label producer Amberley Adhesive Labels, for an undisclosed price, as per the latest packaging industry news.
Amberley is engaged in manufacturing self-adhesive labels at its plant in Dorset.
Coveris acquisition of Amberley will further consolidate the former’s labels and board business. The acquisition of the UK label producer comes after a three-year modernization program and investments in equipment by the European packaging company.
Jakob Mosser – CEO of Coveris, commenting on Coveris acquisition of Amberley, said: “Introducing our Coveris strategy, we clearly committed ourselves to invest and grow our business in high potential areas. The acquisition of Amberley clearly underpins this endeavour. We are very much looking forward to a successful expansion of our labels capabilities and further develop the potential of our new facility.”
Currently, the labels business of the European packaging company caters to the fresh, chilled and ambient markets. On the other hand, Amberley focuses on manufacturing self-adhesive labels for the personal care and home markets.
Coveris said that with extensive capabilities in digital printing, Amberley will be helping it to expand into new markets and also increase its focus on extending its capabilities in digital printing technology.
The European packaging company will be integrating Amberley in its Labels & Board division and has an intention to further invest in the labels business.
