Covenant Health begins construction on new surgical hospital in Lubbock
Covenant Health, a Catholic regional health delivery network, has started construction on a new 32-bed short-stay surgical hospital in Lubbock in northwest Texas.
The short-stay surgical hospital in Lubbock will come up at the intersection of 82nd and Marsha Sharp Freeway in the southwest part of the city on a land of 115,000sft.
The three-storied hospital is expected to be completed by December 2020.

Skiles Group, a Dallas-based construction company, which specializes in the construction of healthcare facilities, will be responsible for the healthcare construction efforts on the project, which is anticipated to be phased over two years.

The short-stay surgical hospital in Lubbock is designed such that there is abundant natural light, green space views and optimal privacy and acoustics within patient areas.
The layout is also designed to provide an efficient, clinical workflow for the planned 250 caregivers and 50 physicians who will be on rotation at the new Covenant Health surgical hospital.
Covenant Health is a clinically integrated health network serving the West Texas, eastern New Mexico region. Its network features seven hospitals, over 1,000 licensed beds, around 100 primary care providers, more than 5,000 caregivers and a medical staff of over 600 physicians.
