CoolSys buys commercial refrigeration and HVAC firm Eastern Refrigeration

CoolSys, a US refrigeration and HVAC services company backed by Ares Management, has acquired Eastern Refrigeration for an undisclosed price, to further expand its market presence in the Northeast region.

Eastern Refrigeration serves Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts with commercial refrigeration and HVAC solutions.

“This strategic acquisition strengthens our market position in the Northeast by providing density in some existing markets and opening up new states for CoolSys.”

Established in 1975 by Pierre “Pete” Belisle, Eastern Refrigeration is said to have grown over the past 40 years to install and service commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment across its region. The company has expertise in all aspects of supermarket refrigeration, which includes direct expansion, carbon dioxide and glycol systems, and also HVAC.

Eastern Refrigeration’s installation capabilities are said to range from ground-up construction and remodels to control systems and energy management systems.
