Confectionery giant Ferrero opens new distribution center in Jonestown

Global confectionery company Ferrero has inaugurated its new distribution center in Jonestown, Pennsylvania to support its organic growth and integration of new brands.

The 730,000 square-foot facility, which is located at 112 Bordnersville Road, will offer 225 local jobs with 75 new positions this year and a further 150 jobs by the end of next year.

The new Ferrero distribution center in Jonestown adds capacity for distributing the company’s portfolio of brands, including Baby Ruth, Crunch, and Butterfinger. Managed by DHL Supply Chain, the facility over the course of time will also distribute other brands of Ferrero.

The Ferrero distribution center will use lithium powered lifts for saving energy, will have the JDA (NTV) warehouse management system, besides deploying DHL’s MySupplyChain technology that is said to offer visibility across the entire supply chain.
