Codenotary unveils tamper-proof database cloud service dubbed immudb Vault
Codenotary, the primary contributor to the immudb project, known for its immutable enterprise-scale database with cryptographic verification, has launched immudb Vault, an enterprise-grade tamper-proof database cloud service.
This newly announced service is built on the foundation of immudb’s popular open-source database.
The immudb Vault service, as an append-only database, maintains a complete and verifiable history of all data changes. Data can be appended but never modified or deleted, which ensures the integrity of both the data and its change history.
With the cloud service, users can effortlessly set up an account and begin streaming data within seconds, bypassing any need for software installation. Application integration is simplified through a REST-API and the use of the industry-standard document model, which supports the storage of both structured and semi-structured data and nested data structures.
The support for both key-value and SQL facilitates the use of immudb in new and existing applications.
immudb Vault guarantees transactional consistency and ACID (atomicity, consistency, isolation, durability) semantics. These features ensure transactions are executed consistently, with full semantic coherence, which assures end-to-end data reliability. As for scalability, immudb Vault can expand infinitely, growing in parallel with customer data.
On a related note, Codenotary also unveiled version 1.5 of immudb, which forms the backbone of the immudb Vault cloud offering. The latest version boasts numerous new features and performance enhancements, including 60 times faster transactions compared to immudb 1.4, JSON ingestion, and support for new data types.
Following the launch, businesses and developers are allowed free usage of immudb Vault, up to 10,000 stored documents or 250 megabytes (MB). The pricing for paid plans, which begin at $69 per month, is based on the number of transactions and the volume of storage used.
immudb is currently employed by thousands of organizations worldwide in creating solutions requiring a zero-trust approach to their sensitive data.
Dennis Zimmer — Codenotary CTO and co-founder, the main contributor to the immudb project, said: “Immudb Vault has the potential to transform the way businesses store, share and access data securely with cryptographic verification of integrity.
“Before immudb Vault, businesses sometimes resorted to using ledger technologies and blockchains to share data with their counterparties, resulting in slow performance, complexity, high cost, and regulatory headaches.”
