Liuhua 16-2 oilfield/ 20-2 project : has started production of the Liuhua 16-2 oilfield/ 20-2 oilfield joint development project in the Eastern South Sea.

According to the Chinese national oil company, the Liuhua 16-2 oilfield / 20-2 oilfield joint development project is in an average water depth of nearly 410 meters.

CNOOC said that a 150,000 DWT FPSO and three underwater production systems have been newly constructed for the offshore oil project.

The Chinese national oil company plans to drill a total of 26 development wells as part of the and bring them into production and development. The Liuhua 16-2 oilfield/ 20-2 oilfield joint development project, which is 100% owned by CNOOC, is anticipated to achieve its peak production of around 72,800 barrels of crude oil per day in 2022.

Earlier this month, CNOOC began production from its 100% owned Nanbao 35-2 oilfield S1 area in the central Bohai Sea in China.
