Cleveron introduces Cleveron 701 semi-autonomous last mile delivery vehicle

Cleveron, an Estonian parcel delivery robotics company, has introduced Cleveron 701 – its new unmanned semi-autonomous last mile delivery vehicle.

Cleveron 701 is said to have been designed for retailers and logistics firms wanting to ramp up last mile delivery solutions and efficiencies.

The new semi-autonomous delivery vehicle is claimed to help businesses cope up with the increasing demand for same-day delivery. It has a maximum speed of 50km/h and has a load capacity of up to 200kg.

Cleveron said that it has piloted Cleveron 701 for the past six months in Estonia, and is slated to start mass production in 2023.

The company is said to be the first in Europe to have secured a pilot license for operating unmanned semi-autonomous vehicles in public streets across Estonia.

Cleveron 701 is capable of driving in low traffic areas such as suburbs for delivering in 15–30 minutes driving range of a fulfillment center, retailer, or a dark store.

Remotely supervised, the semi-autonomous delivery vehicle can deliver goods from a store or warehouse to nearby customers within 60 minutes. When compared to a trip to the store for curbside pickup, Cleveron 701 facilitates fast and convenient receipt of packages in a competitive timeframe.

Furthermore, the driverless delivery solution from the parcel delivery robotics company, also cuts down costs of labor as one teleoperator can simultaneously supervise 10 vehicles.

According to Cleveron, Cleveron 701 is designed as an adaptable, semi-autonomous platform as well to which suitable modifications can be made for catering to different delivery requirements.

Arno Kütt – Cleveron CEO said: “We are very proud to announce Cleveron’s latest innovation in autonomous delivery vehicle market. With our new driverless semi-autonomous vehicle, we are enabling retailers and logistics companies to solve complex and costly last mile delivery challenges while satisfying consumer demand for same day, and in some cases, same hour deliveries.

“Since Cleveron received the first license in Europe to test drive an unmanned vehicle on the streets of Estonia last year without restrictions, we have been amazed at how easily Cleveron 701 has become an organic part of the city life. What’s more, consumers can get groceries, parcels, restaurant deliveries or even ice cream from an environmentally friendly delivery robot.”
