CitraPac has launched Nature’s Premium Fruit Pearls, a healthy snack which is now available in the frozen fruit sections of major retailers in the US.
The product features cryogenically frozen fruit pearls, which are a blend of real fruit or fruit and yogurt. The snack is United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Smart Snack approved and provides a healthy alternative to traditional fruit servings. Suitable for most dietary preferences or lifestyles, Nature’s Premium Fruit Pearls offers consumers an easy way to have healthy, ready-to-eat fruit servings available. Additionally, due to its extended shelf life compared to fresh fruit, the frozen brand can help consumers reduce food waste and enjoy products without worrying about expiration.
Nature’s Premium Fruit Pearls has quickly expanded in retail, going national with Walmart, Publix, and Meijer in August. More than 20,000 retail and online stores, including chain grocery retailers and independent grocers, will have access to Fruit Pearls distribution through KeHE. Moreover, the brand’s supply chain will be bolstered through DOT distribution centers across the US. Nature’s Premium Fruit Pearls come in five low-fat, gluten-free varieties: three fruit and cream options and two fruit-only options for dairy-free consumers.
Each variety comes in 9.2 oz boxes that contain four 2.3 oz cups. The brand also plans to introduce 12 ct. club packs and single-serve cups in Q2 2024.
CitraPac utilizes its patented and proprietary next-generation cryogenic citrus technology to create the Nature’s Premium Fruit Pearls. Unlike many flash frozen products that require -40°F freezer temperatures to maintain their shape and consistency, CitraPac’s cryogenic citrus technology requires less energy, making it possible for commercial and home use with standard freezers. Fruit Pearls can be kept at -5°F, an ideal temperature as per FDA recommendations for freezer settings.
