Sales Benchmark Index (SBI) has secured an undisclosed investment from CIP Capital, a private equity firm engaged in making platform investments across growth-oriented, middle-market firms in the business information and tech-enabled services sectors.
As part of the deal, the management team of the Texas-based management consulting company will continue to lead it during its next phase of growth, while retaining a considerable ownership stake alongside CIP Capital.
Matt Sharrers – CEO of Sales Benchmark Index said: “Our partnership with CIP Capital allows SBI to continue investing in new solutions and capabilities for our clients. Our vision to become the premier platform for revenue growth can be better materialized with the team from CIP.
“The entire SBI team is excited about this next phase of growth and remains committed to our strategy of helping clients accelerate revenue growth and transform their go-to-market model to best in class.
Established in 2006, the Dallas-based Sales Benchmark Index offers consulting, research, insights, and advisory solutions, apart from access to its own data to enterprise clients and private equity firms in North America and Europe.
The management consulting company is said to use the Revenue Growth Methodology, a management method that enables clients speed up their rate of revenue growth. Sales Benchmark Index helps its clients by aligning the functional strategies of sales, marketing, pricing, product management, and human resources to the external marketplace.
Benchmarking is said to help the company’s clients to differentiate from their competition by getting access to the latest best practices from the major sales and marketing leaders.
Sales Benchmark Index is said to have joined forces with CIP Capital to fast track growth and invest aggressively in its people, client service capabilities, specialty practice areas, and benchmarking solutions.
The management consulting company anticipates doubling its workforce in the coming 12-18 months as part of its growth plan. Sales Benchmark Index will also try to make selective acquisitions aimed at helping it consolidate practice areas within the commercial functions of its revenue growth.
Justin Lipton – Managing Partner at CIP Capital said: “Building scalable go-to-market strategies that accelerate revenue growth is a major focus and area of investment for enterprise businesses moving forward. SBI has clearly established itself as a pure play leader that assists its clients on the implementation of growth initiatives using unique data and insights.”
For Sales Benchmark Index, its financial advisor for the transaction was Raymond James & Associates, while Foley & Lardner has been the legal advisor. On the other hand, Willkie Farr and Gallagher was the legal advisor to CIP Capital.
