Chemplast Sanmar Limited, a key player within the SHL Chemicals Group, has recently signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with a renowned global agrochemical innovator for the production of a novel Active Ingredient (AI). The LOI spans a five-year duration, with expectations to commence commercial supplies starting from the calendar year 2025.
Manufacturing in New Production Block
The agreement stipulates the manufacturing of this new product in Chemplast Sanmar’s newly commissioned production block. This venture reflects the company’s growth and expansion within the chemical manufacturing industry, particularly in the field of agrochemicals.
A Significant Achievement for Chemplast Sanmar
Dr. Krishna Kumar Rangachari, Deputy Managing Director of Chemplast Sanmar Limited, remarked on the importance of this LOI, stating, “Last quarter, we announced that we have been selected to manufacture an AI. This is an important milestone for the Company since this is the first time we will be involved in the manufacture of an AI. Today, we are pleased to announce that we have signed an LOI for the supply of the AI. This is the third LOI we have signed over the past 12 months. This development reiterates our customers’ confidence in our ability to integrate a world-class research and development capability with a broad range of chemical technologies at production scale.”

The Custom Manufactured Chemicals Division at Chemplast Sanmar is tasked with producing advanced intermediates for sectors including agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and fine chemicals. With a specialized team of chemists and engineers, this division is well-equipped, boasting state-of-the-art production facilities, alongside pilot plants and R&D facilities capable of handling diverse chemistries and processes.
